Black Lane Mansion Part 2, Leeds

This downstairs WC was an unusual brief. Our customer requested a WC which also acts as an occasional wetroom for guests. Therefore, all the products supplied had to be suitable for a wet area.

In order to retain the large-feature Edwardian door, we proposed a smoked glass shower door to be installed within the original door frame. This way the room acts as a shower enclosure area when required and when the door is closed, the grand hall still has the original door. Thanks to the skilled tradesmen who worked on this job, the final result is great.

The client chose a large format, oxide tile and due to the room being so small, the space was fully tiled and well-ventilated. The matt black sanitaryware is suitable for occasional wet areas and it looks fantastic with these quite dark, copper oxide turquoise tiles.

The brassware is brushed black and this neat hand shower and valve sit opposite the toilet, with a flush overhead shower built into the ceiling. The room is illuminated with a carefully installed low level LED strip.

When we first visited this property, we could only access the loft via a ladder. It’s incredible to see how this space has been transformed into an apartment-style floor for our customer’s teenage children. Working together with the architect and fitters, we created this small loft shower room.

The pitch of the ceiling worked in our favour for the walk-in shower area. However, due to ceiling height restrictions we could only spec a slide rail kit.

This attractive, small shower room shows just what you can achieve in a small space with mid-range bathroom products.
