This family was referred to us by a happy customer we had previously helped design and supply an attic bathroom for. They had already found a gorgeous pink basin elsewhere, but needed our expertise to create a design and layout for the ultimate girly pink bathroom. We fell in love with their vision and made it a reality! I love it!

What made you decide to start this project?
We had a lot of building work done about three years ago, a big extension downstairs, which opened up our living space and gave us a main bedroom and ensuite downstairs. This provided each of our two daughters with a bigger room up stairs and their own bathroom. We were meant to do this bathroom upstairs at the same time as the main build, but we ran out of time, money and energy! So the bathroom has sat half done for about three years, until we recently found the inspiration to get it finished.
Where did you draw your inspiration from?
I fell in love with a pink sink, and everything else was planned around that. I knew what I had in mind, but trying to get my two teenage daughters to agree with my plans was another challenge! I used some photos from Pinterest to show them what I had in mind, and they agreed with my vision.
What was the most challenging part of the process?
It’s only a small bathroom, but we were taking out a bath and replacing it with a walk-in shower, and I wasn’t sure of the dimensions, and how big a shower tray we should go for. Charlotte from Morland was great in planning the space and suggested a long shower tray fitting the entire space, with some boxing in around the sink and toilet which I hadn’t considered before. Once we agreed on that, the rest fell into place.
What do you love most about your bathroom?
I love that it suits my daughters now, and also current bathroom trends, but it will also stand the test of time, as they get older, given the sophisticated tiles and products that were chosen.
How did you find the process from start to finish?
The design and ordering process with Morland was great. We enjoyed visualising the space, and deciding on products that brought our ideas to life. As for the installation, we learnt from the building work we did previously, that there are always going to be some bumps in the road, and more decisions to be made, when things don’t go as originally intended. Having said that, we dealt with all issues swiftly and the work completed on time and within budget which was great.
How does the end result make you feel?
The finished bathroom is an absolute joy. Even though we have an en-suite downstairs, I find myself making excuses to use the new bathroom upstairs, generally just to admire the new space. We love it!
